Schools Causing Concern

Access the Schools Causing Concern strategy document from this page and discover how the Board of Education can help schools, academies or MAT's in this situation.

On occasion, academies or schools have times of difficulty which impact on the achievement and wellbeing of the school community and the flourishing of the school as a church school.

The Schools Causing Concern strategy is intended to enable the Board of Education to be proactive in identifying and working alongside these academies or schools in order to prevent crisis and promote effective school improvement.

The three principles which underpin the Schools Causing Concern strategy are:

  • Autonomy – Schools are autonomous and responsible for their own improvement.
  • Partnerships – Close partnership working leads to effective improvement.
  • Transformational – The Christian ethos supports a moral imperative for good outcomes for all children, transforming their lives.

The process is explained in this helpful download of the Schools Causing Concern strategy.

"Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do"
Pope John XXIII
