A day to thank and resource volunteers

On Friday 5 June, the first Volunteers Day organised by the DBF sought to celebrate and support volunteers and those who serve so faithfully in our parish churches. More than 80 people attended.

The day built on last year's volunteer celebrations and allowed volunteers to connect with those in similar roles, as well as the diocesan staff team. The day included an introduction and worship by Bishop Karen, a range of workshops and drop-in sessions.

As we were reminded in a final prayer from Bishop Karen, “If every wall should crumble, and every church decay, we are your habitation.”

The overwhelming feedback was, more, please!

Thank you to all who serve their communities through the local church. Your time, dedication and prayerful support offers vital hope to our communities in challenging times.
