About our role
We are looking for an experienced Contracts and Supplier Manager to join our Insight, Change and Technology (ICT) team and play a vital part in helping us design and develop our capabilities to manage our portfolio of major contracts and suppliers.
This role will be responsible in ensuring that the contracts portfolio is well managed, address any potential compliance related risks including Health & Safety and that contracts are maintained from the commencement to renewals and exit. You will be supporting and leading the development of various commercial governance mechanisms and tools such as assurance and Supplier Relationship Management frameworks collaboratively across the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF).
Part of the role also involves supporting the development of KPIs and other performance management indicators to provide evidence for Senior Leadership Team and the Finance & Resources Committee for efficient, data-driven decision making. This role will also provide support for various committees and senior stakeholders by preparing reports and updates.
You will be someone who:
- Has strong and engaging communications skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of people
- Has experience of negotiating with new providers and contractors
- Has the ability to build supportive and valued partnerships with new providers and partners
- Pays attention to accuracy and attention to detail
- Values confidentiality and understands the sensitivities that exist when dealing with contracts
- Can manage your own workload and adapt flexibly to the needs of the ICT department

This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis on Frequent Homeworker contract. We provide a supportive workplace culture, are committed to a sustainable work/life balance and offer opportunities for flexible and remote working. As a Frequent Homeworker there is a requirement to work part of the time from the main offices at Emmaus House in Wilton, Salisbury – final arrangements and work pattern would be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

In addition, we provide a non-contributory pension scheme of 10% pension contribution (comprising 9.5% pension; 0.5% death in service cover), which may rise by a further 3% if matched by a 3% contribution from the employee. Annual leave

Job role: Contracts and Supplier Manager
Hours: Full time – 35 hours per week
Contract: Frequent Homeworker (FHW)
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £59,389pa (Grade 2C)
Team: Insight Change and Technology (ICT)
Whilst this role does not require you to be a practising Christian, we would request you to be in sympathy with and be comfortable with the aims and ethos of the Church of England, and a basic knowledge of its structures would be desirable, but not critical.
