Wine, cheese, and a healthy portion of Christianity was served at St John’s Church in Wimborne in September.
The evening was hosted by James Graham and his father, John Graham, who are both members of the St John’s, with the intention of reaching out to those on the fringe of Church life, while sharing their passion for wine. Over 50 people gathered at the lively event to hear James and John share their testimonies, sip on wine and share in fellowship.
In his youth, James stopped attending church after feeling that it was "just for traditions sake," and "served no purpose." Five years later, James heard the Gospel whilst away at a summer camp.
“I was told that Christ wasn’t some distant being, but someone who wanted to know me personally.
“I knew I needed to start attending church again.” James said.
The message James heard that summer resonated and he saw it as an opportunity to reestablish his relationship with Christ.
“My story reminds me of Ripasso wine,” he explained.
“The word Ripasso means a ‘second pass’,” just as “God gives us a second opportunity to get to know Him.” he continued.
“It was a great event. It has led to a lot of great conversations, with some even asking about regular church attendance and Christianity Explored.” James added.
Please pray for all those who attended, that they would consider coming to know Christ through regular church attendance and the Christianity Explored resources.
