Reading this week's prayers is Roger Powell. The Revd Canon Roger Powell is Rector of The Ridgeway Benefice (three rural parishes on the Marlborough Downs), Rural Dean of Marlborough and an honorary Canon of Salisbury Cathedral. Roger has just been appointed as one of two new Assistant Archdeacons in the diocese. His interests outside of the church are theatre and travel.

Loving God,
We pray today for the community of Wimborne and its Rural Dean: Andrew Rowland, Assistant Rural Dean: Jane Burgess, and Lay Chair: Gillian Clarke. We pray that as we continue to draw closer together in sharing in the mission and ministry of Christ, that the whole people of God can both love one another and reach out in service to our communities.

Eternal Father,
We pray today for Alderholt, Wimborne and its Clergy: Simon Woodley and David Dennis.
We give you thanks for:
The provision of the £43,000 needed for roof repairs, and raising regular giving to cover the annual costs of our Children and Families worker;
The journey to be part of the Inclusive Church Network;
And for our young people getting confirmed soon.
We pray too for the staff and students of Alderholt St James' CE VC First School.

King Jesus,
We pray today for the communities of Canford Magna, Wimborne and its Clergy: Mike Tufnell, Matt Smith, Peter Myres, Ralph Goldenberg, Bob Payne, Andrew Corke, Mike Pavlou, Anne Gee, Andrew Simpson. For Licensed Lay Minister: David Wells and other lay roles within Canford Magna.
We pray for all our churches as we seek to grow disciples and make Jesus known, in word and deed and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray too for Alpha and other outreach courses starting soon in the parish, that those who attend would come to know God and see their lives changed.
We pray today too for the Episcopal Churches in South Sudan and Sudan, in particular for the Rt Revd Daniel Deng Abot, Bishop of Duk in South Sudan.

In our prayers today, we hold before You Colehill, Wimborne Deanery and its Clergy: Suzanne Pattle, Martin Collett, Church Warderns: Hilary Motson and Graham Kewley, and the Lay Worship Leaders and Lay Pastoral Assistant.
We pray for our Cherubs Toddler Group and the building of relationships with young families as well as for our church school Colehill St Michael's CE Middle School, and Headteacher Darren Ayling.

We give you thanks for all the communities of Corfe Mullen, Wimborne and its Clergy: Jane Burgess, David Reed, Charles Burgess, Chris Tebbutt, Nigel Lloyd, For LLMs: Paul Eaton, Rachel Stevens. Children and Families Lead: Evie Ford.
We pray for the ladies conference on October 5th in Corfe Mullen that it would be a day of refreshing and equipping for ladies in the area. And we thank you God for the growing connection with young families in our parish and pray for Your blessing on the new short weekly service ‘Rise’, for young families.

We pray for the churches in the Wimborne deanery as a new incumbent is being recruited. On today the Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity, we lift to you the communities of Hampreston and Ferndown, Wimborne and its Clergy: Dom Meering, Oli Fricker, and LLM: Ralph Dodds.
We pray today:
For the clergy and staff team following recent changes
That gathering to worship may be overwhelmingly characterised by the fruit of the Spirit
That we all in Christ, carry a deep conviction about the riches of who God has made us to be as part of his plan
That our witness to the local community will be bold and faithful and brings deep blessing which meets needs and changes lives
That we will see many people of all ages find salvation in Jesus this year and beyond
And finally for Hampreston CE VA First school as they look towards joining a local Multi Academy Trust.
