LLM Annual Service

On Saturday 28 September, the LLMs of the Diocese gathered at Salisbury Cathedral for their annual service of celebration of their ministry and recommitment to serving God and their communities as Lay Ministers.

Licensed and trained ministers work to equip the people of God to be the church out in the world, living for Christ. Lay ministry covers a wide and dynamic range of activities and locations across our diocese. To read more about Lay ministry click here.

Bishop Stephen presided at the Eucharist and Bishop Karen, Warden of LLMs for the Diocese, played a significant part in the service.

We were delighted to have an LLM from Jersey, Helen Hamilton, as our preacher; the service was live streamed so that those in Jersey, Guernsey and Sark could participate. Two new LLMs, Barbara Luscombe and Caroline Wehlau, were admitted and licensed, having completed their training at Sarum College. Four LLMs transferred to Salisbury from other Dioceses (Gillian Blackham, William Hazelton, Heather Lee and Terry Stanfield), and two who had transferred during the year were formally welcomed (Judith Male and Charles Merivale). The service was followed by a reception in the Cloisters for the whole congregation.
