Working for Justice

Working for Justice is a key strand of our vision, Making Jesus Known, which was affirmed in June 2023 by synod.

Work under this strand will include work to achieve racial justice in the diocese, including working with the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community and others.

It will include collaborating with partners, including Christian organisations, charities and non governmental organisations and civic and political leaders.

At the heart of our work will be amplifying voices of those in our communities which often go unheard.

The strand of Working for Justice also includes our work on safeguarding, and our commitment to a safe and just environment for everyone, and our specialist ministries, such as our chaplaincy to the Deaf community.

You can find out more about our vision including watching a video featuring the views of some young people from All Saints CE Academy in Weymouth, on the church’s responsibility to work for justice.

The diocese has also signed the Armed Forces Covenant to support veterans.
