The Chalke Deanery has been linked to the remote Diocese of Cueibet in South Sudan through the Chalke-Cueibet Partnership since 2012. The link has allowed for many joined activities over the years including annual visits by groups from the Deanery to run clergy conferences and monitor developments, the sponsoring of students pastors at college, the building of a church primary school and assistance with a range of agricultural projects.
Through the technological wonder of WhatsApp, this year the Deanery has been able to share the Easter story with Bishop Elijah and some of his congregations. You can watch the Diocese of Cueibet’s own Easter celebrations below or at the link here – we pray for them, just as they pray for us.
