Parish Support, Governance, Administration & HR

The  Parish Support, Governance, Administration & HR teams aims to provide a first point of contact and act as a resource and information hub that serves the needs of our churches and communities. The team is also responsible for governance and pastoral planning at every level of the Diocesan structure, human resources and assisting parishes in their care for church buildings and churchyards.

Director of Strategy and Operations

Elizabeth leads and manages the Parish Support team. Working with parishes, she seeks to ensure the team are adapting and learning to respond to the changing context and needs of those we seek to serve.

Joanne Sandall-Ball

Parish Services Senior Administrative Secretary  (PA to the Directors) 

Jo provides secretarial and administrative support to the Diocesan Secretary (CEO) of the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) and the Leadership Team including diary coordination and planning, correspondence, and servicing meetings. Jo also assists with the servicing of key governance meetings like Diocesan Synod and Bishop’s Council.

Jennifer O'Connell

Parish Services Learning and Change Coordinator  

Jennie supports administration for CMD and Safeguarding courses. She is also responsible for supporting key events such as Ministry Day.

Richard Peacock 

IT Support Officer 

Richard is responsible for the Diocesan IT network and software operations, ensuring that the DBF and staff fully utilise the benefits of it.  The role has particular administrator responsibilities for Microsoft SharePoint and bespoke contact management databases.

Miriam Longfoot 

Governance and Pastoral Planning Manager

Miriam is the pastoral and patronage secretary and assists parishes with Church Representation Rules (including electoral roll, elections and APCMs), general governance queries, data protection and GDPR. Miriam oversees processes relating to the Mission and Pastoral Measure and the Board of Patronage.

Governance Support Officer 

 Katharine provides administrative support on governance activities, including the service of the Diocesan Missional and Pastoral Committee and sub-committees and the pastoral consultation processes.

Sam Giddens

Support Services & People Administrator

Sam serves as the first point of contact for HR queries, and provides support to the HR Team for a broad range of matters.

Additionally he works with the Parish Support team, to engage with both internal and external parties to support work of the Diocese.

Sam also has a keen interest in promoting employee wellbeing.

HR, Learning and Development Manager

Olatunde leads and manages the HR team. He works with the leadership team and other stakeholders to build, develop and deliver people intiatives and interventions. This ensures employees are thriving in their roles and can passionately address the needs of those we serve.

HR Systems Officer

Sally is responsible for implementing and optimising our HR systems and associated business processes in collaboration with the HR Team. She also provides support to the HR Team for general HR matters.

Sarah Abdy

HR Advisor

Sarah is responsible for providing specialist support across the HR employee life cycle within the DBF, this includes delivering on people initiatives and working alongside the HR, Learning and Development Manager.  She has a particular interest and experience in employee relations, supporting wellbeing practices and is a Mental Health Champion.

Working hours: Monday 14:00-17:00, Tuesday to Friday 8.30-17:00
