Last Sunday, after a long journey of faith, Linda Bird-Davis decided to get baptised outside Bremhill Church (St Martin's).
Linda spoke in the Sunday morning service about how she'd come through some difficult times, and been on a long journey of faith, to get to this point of deciding to follow in the light of Christ. She and nine others are to be confirmed next Sunday 29 September at St Mary's Church Calne, but Linda was particularly keen to be baptised by immersion. Caspar Bush, team rector, had been a dairy farmer when he was first ordained, and for a similar baptism had once used an industrial liquids tank. So Linda acquired a similar tank, but decorated it beautifully with rope and fabric. The water was straight out of a hose pipe on the Sunday morning, so it was a bracing experience, and a really memorable event for Linda and the 30 people of all ages who gathered to witness it.
