Reading this week's prayers is Jonathan Triffitt. Jonathan is Director of Mission and Ministry and Deputy Diocesan Secretary at the Diocesan Board of Finance. He is also a big Bradford city fan!

22 July – 

Today, the feast of St Mary Magdalene 

We pray for Dorchester Area Hospitals and Weldmar Hospice Trust and their chaplains: Jean Saddington , Kate Wyles and Jimmy Holden . God, we thank you and welcome two Honorary Chaplains to the team, Jonathan and Rob, and give thanks for their ministry amongst us. 

We pray for those of all faith backgrounds running the chaplaincy and for all those who access their services. 

We pray for Father Filip as he begins his additional role as Chaplain to St Ann’s/Alderney Mental Health Services.  We pray for your blessing and the gift of courageous leadership for the chaplains in their daily work of providing spiritual and pastoral care for patients and staff.

23 July 

Lord God 

Today we pray for Weymouth & Portland Deanery and its Rural Dean: Jo Haine. We raise to you the Assistant Rural Dean: James Menzies and Lay Chair and town centre chaplain: Neil Biles. We pray for all those who are involved in ministry across the Deanery especially those who volunteer their time; for the Street Pastors, those who work in the Food Banks and help people in debt through the work of Christians Against Poverty. 

We pray for the ongoing work with refugees and asylum seekers. We also pray for the Deanery during this holiday season as holidaymakers join worship. We pray that through all this, and more, all can make Jesus Known in Weymouth and Portland.

Our Lord and our God, 

We pray for the community of Radipole and Melcombe Regis with Chickerell and their  Clergy: Jo Haine, Tom Coopey, Dan Harland, Anni Douglas, Malcolm Millard, John Lewis, Richard Simmons, Geoff Hebbern, Paul Selley, Margaret Baker, Eugeniah Adoyo and Peter Gibbs. We ask your blessing on the ministry of licensed Lay Ministers: Carl Whitehouse, Richard Pendrey, Donna Smith, Shirley Evans-Jones and Youth Pioneer Minister: Joe Hobday. 

We thank you for the fruitful ministry to children and young people across the team and we pray for the ongoing work of the town centre chaplain. 

We pray for the team, as they seek the appointment of a new Team Rector. We pray for the person that God is calling into this role and for the Team of six churches as we look forward to this person joining.

Lord Jesus, Today on the feast of James the Apostle 

We pray your blessing upon the community of Weymouth Holy Trinity and its Clergy: Juliet Stephenson. 

 As the Inclusive Church on the Harbourside..we pray that each and every person can encounter God in all we do as his church. We pray for the Open Table Network Church which is beginning to meet in Holy Trinity. 

We pray for Holy trinity C of E school which is seeking to appoint a new Head Teacher, for the Governors and prospective applicants. We also pray for the staff, students and parents of the school. 

26 July 

Creator God, 

Thank you for the people of Weymouth St Paul with Fleet, and their Clergy: Gregory Lipovsky, Tony Ball, James Baker. 

In our prayers for St. Paul’s and Fleet – we raise to you God the Summer Mission Day, that  through prayer and outreach you will renew and restore, and help us all bring the Gospel to our neighbours. 

We raise to you the staff, pupils and families of Beechcroft Schoo, that the school will become a place of faith and  knowledge. 

And for St Pauls CE VA Primary that they will be blessed and filled anew with our Holy spirit.

Today we pray for the community of Wyke Regis All Saints with St Edmund and its  Clergy: John MacKenzie. 

We pray for the church eco-church team going for silver and for our ecumenical work linked around Open Table Weymouth.

Today, the Ninth Sunday after Trinity 

We raise to you the community of Portland and its Clergy: Tim Gomm, Fiona Wheatley, Shan Litjen and Licensed Lay Minister: Karen Gomm. 

We thank God for the recent success of the Alpha course. 

We pray for Portland that it may thrive in unity within itself and with other churches around them.
