Reading this week's prayers is David Pain. David is Diocesan Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Diocesan Board of Finance. In his spare time, David love's cooking for friends and family, live music, walking and cycling.

26 August 

Jesus, 

Thank you for the community of Castel, Guernsey and its Clergy: Nick Drayson. 

We pray for the growth and mission outreach to thrive in Castel, one of the largest parishes in Guernsey. We pray younger families are inspired by the services provided in our parish.

27 August 

God Almighty, 

We pray today for the community of Vale, Guernsey and its Clergy: Bev Herve. We pray for your blessing on all those who were recently married or baptised, and for those who visit the church, seeking God and pausing for a moment of reflection. As we continue to discern God’s will for our community may we seek your wisdom and guidance.

Living God, 

Thank you for Princess Elizabeth Hospital Guernsey, The Oberlands, St John’s Residential Home and Le Mignot Hospital Alderney, Guernsey Deanery and its Clergy: Linda Le Vasseur. 

We pray that following receiving the funding from the Third Sector for a new Chapel at The PEH, the project will proceed soon. We pray too for the setting up of a chaplaincy service in Alderney. We pray for and thank our team for their commitment and enthusiasm. 

In our prayers for Episcopal Churches in South Sudan and Sudan: We pray for the Rt Revd Wilson Kamani, Bishop of Ibba in South Sudan.

Lord of all creation, 

We pray your blessing over Elizabeth College, Guernsey Deanery and its Chaplain: Peter Graysmith. We pray for the staff and students of the College, and for the Chaplaincy as it seeks to be a Christian presence within the community.

30 August 

Merciful Father, 

Thank you for St John’s and Guernsey Prison, Guernsey Deanery and its Clergy: Solveig Sonet, Peter Graysmith. Licensed Lay Minister: Annette Stewart. 

We pray for the ministry team, churchwardens Annette Stewart and Paul Chambers, and for all the volunteers who work tirelessly to make St John's the beautiful and welcoming community that it is. 

We pray for the continuing success of the ongoing weekly community café, and all weekly activities. And finally, we pray for our ongoing efforts to raise funds for the extensive repair of our East Window. 

And for the Guernsey Prison Chaplaincy: we pray for the many volunteers and staff that make up the team, particularly for Steve Henry from the Prison Fellowship, and Mary Hervé from Caring for exoffenders. We pray for the prisoners who took academic exams, as well as those scheduled to leave the prison this summer and the mix of emotions this brings.

Our Lord and Our God, 

We thank you for St Peter’s, Sark, Guernsey Deanery and its Clergy: David Stolton. We give thanks for the joys of the holiday season, the opportunities to meet and worship with visitors to Sark and the fun, celebration and blessing of boats at our Sea Service. 

We raise all of your children before you in Christ's name.

Our Saviour and Redeemer, 

On today, the Fourteenth Sunday after Trinity, we pray for Antony MacRow-Wood in his role as Director of Finance and Asset Management. We pray for Lucy Holt as she assists Archdeacon Penny in covering the Dorset Archdeaconry. 

We pray for them as they support parishes in vacancy and recruitment of new clergy.
