Cycle of Prayer: 27 January- 2 February

Reading this week's prayers is Rachel Firth. Rachel is a Licensed Lay Minister in the Benefice of St Mary’s Broughton Gifford, All Saints, Great Chalfield, and St Katharine’s, Holt. She is also a psychotherapist and counsellor in private practice, an enthusiast gardener and fan of her 6 grandchildren.

27 January: Lyme Bay Deanery 

Living Lord, 

We raise to you in prayer the people and parishes of the Lyme Bay Deanery. We pray for the clergy, Rural Dean: David Baldwin. and Lay Chair: Janet Jackson. We raise to you all lay leaders and volunteers, that they may be refreshed and blessed in their ministry. We pray for the church’s presence in each community, loving all who live there.

28 January: Eggardon and Colmers, Lyme Bay 

Heavenly Father, 

We thank you for all who worship and serve in the parishes of Eggardon and Colmers, Lyme Bay. We pray for Your blessing over all those who lead, lay, ordained, and in volunteer roles, that You would equip them for the work You have called them to do. We pray for clergy: Chris Grasske, and Carol Peters.

Lord Jesus, 

Today we raise to you the communities of Bride Valley and Chesil, Lyme Bay, for all who live, work and worship there. We pray for the clergy, Andrew Rawding, Margaret Preuss-Higham, and Liz Howlett, and for volunteers inside and outside churches who serve the wider community.

God,

Lord Jesus, 

We pray for your blessing on the Golden Cap Team in the Lyme Bay Deanery, for all those who worship and live there. We pray for Clergy: Sarah Godfrey, Virginia Luckett, Lucyann Ashdown, and Sarah Keen. We ask you will continue to guide them in living out your word.

2 February: Candlemas - Presentation of Christ in the Temple, Dorchester Deanery 

Heavenly Father, 

Today as we celebrate Candlemas and reflect on the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, we thank you for all who worship and serve in the parishes of the Dorchester Deanery. We ask for your blessing over all those who lead in lay, ordained, and volunteer roles. We pray for the Clergy, for Rural Dean: Sarah Hillman. Assistant Rural Dean: Jonathan Still and Lay Chair: Rachel Bywater. We pray that You will equip and guide them in their ministry. 

In our Anglican cycle of prayer we pray for the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.
