5 August

Almighty God,

Thank you for the community of Hazelbury Bryan & the Hillside Parishes, Blackmore Vale, and its Licensed Lay Minister: James Hepburn. 

Lord, allow us to preach the truth of your word, the Bible and have an increased desire to live as your children in this area of the world. This we humbly ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ.

– Today on the Transfiguration of our Lord  Jesus

We pray for the community of Marnhull, Blackmore Vale, and its Clergy: Gaenor Hockey, and Angus Mayhew. Licensed Lay Minister: Judith Male. 

We thank you for the people of Marnhull and pray for all the village summer and autumn events planned- for greater village connections and fun together. 

We pray for the development of music and worship in church life to deepen and grow.

Thank you for Pickwick Multiple Academy Trust and Marnhull St Gregory’s CE VA Primary School, we pray they continue to flourish.

Our Lord and our God,

Thank you for the communities of Okeford, Blackmore Vale Deanery and its Clergy: Andrew Gubbins. Licensed Lay Minister with Permission to Officiate: Sue Rawlinson. We pray for all involved with families, children and young people in schools, groups and worship: Steve and Imi.

We pray that this August will enable us to wisely recharge, review and renew our offerings.

Jesus,

We pray your blessing upon the community of Spire Hill, Blackmore Vale and its Clergy: Richard Hancock, Belinda West, Angela Sayer, Joe Edwards, and Graham Hitchins. Licensed Lay Minister: Judy Wait. Lay Worship Leaders: John Worth, Sue Bollen. 

We pray for curate Rev Belinda West who was recently priested and the pastoral group she is setting up. We pray for those exploring a vocation to The Third Order of the Society of St Francis TSSF, John-Paul and Penny. 

We thank you for Lay Pioneer Minister, Rachel Page and her work with the Bumblebee outreach cafe at Stourton Caundle and pray for the Jam Breakfast Club. 

We pray our Welcome to Stalbridge event in September for those recently moved into the community and a great outreach to men in the Benefice. 

We pray for those at Stalbridge Congregational Church and their ministers Sandra and John.

Our Father, 

Thank you for Stour Vale, Blackmore Vale communities, and its Clergy: Clare Dean. Licensed Lay Ministers: Fiona Hedges, Carol Hibbert. We ask for God’s blessing on the summer prayer walks in the villages in our mission to “Make Jesus Known”. We pray as all seek to discern how to engage with children and young people across the Benefice meaningfully.

We pray for Sturminster Newton, Hinton St Mary and Lydlinch, Blackmore Vale communities, and its Clergy: Mary Gubbins, Eric Woods, Roger Townley, and Lorraine McGregor. 

We pray for God’s enabling, so parishes and congregations can continue to be blessed, in familiar and new ways, as all grow together as a mutually supportive Benefice and part of the Pilgrim Group of Churches.  We pray for the Christians Together in Sturminster Newton Holiday Club from 13 - 16 August.

Today, the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity  We thank you for Shaftesbury, Blackmore Vale communities, and its Clergy: Donna Gibbs. We pray for:

•  all churches, schools, and communities within Team Shaftesbury Benefice

•  for Local Leaders who are discerning how to go forward in God’s mission and ministry

•  retired clergy helpers that they may feel valued.

 

We pray for all who are volunteering, and all who have baked cakes, for the Church Tent, at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show on 14th and 15th August. We pray for our farming communities and give thanks for their hard work.
