This week, we have heard from the Revd Sally Taylor, who used her £10 note to encourage a group of people to focus their care on the environment, and even had leftovers to provide them with refreshments:
I run Little Acorns woodland toddler church every Monday with a wonderful team from St Michael's church Hamworthy. We normally meet in the Bluebell woods behind the church but sometimes in the summer we gather on the beach to have our time of exploring God and nature together. So we gathered on the beach and explored the story of Jonah and I also shared with our little church group about what you had said and the £10 Talent you gave to everyone.
As we are all about nature and sustainability and exploring God in His creation I felt to give each of the families a plant which I had bought with the money and told them to take it away and nurture it and grow it like God sustains and grows us and His Kingdom. We had some money left over from this and others in the group added to this and we used this money to buy refreshments and shared time and fun on the beach together.
So thank you Bishop Stephen for your invitation and challenge to bless and grow the Kingdom of God. God is definitely doing that - often in the small but definitely in the deep ways of us and our community as we journey on together with our God of surprises.
