On Sunday 1 September, Creation Sunday at the start of Creationtide, St John's Church in Broadstone celebrated their Silver Eco Church Award. As well as the celerbatory morning service, St John's enjoyed the annual afternoon pet service, called Wet Nose Sunday, when all pets are brought to the service and blessed.
The Vicar, Revd Helen Bailey said, 'We are so thrilled to achieve this and my thanks go to the whole Eco Gang and to Nicky Hoar who leads them, as they keep us focused and intentional on all matters ecological. Our congregation play a very important part in our achievement also, and our Muddy Church also helps us to learn about these issues and put them into practice. Now we're going for gold!'
