The Wiltshire Living Churchyards project encourages parishes to manage their churchyards to benefit and increase its natural history.
Many may remember Bishop Bickersteth who was one of the main instigators of the project in the late 1980's. The project thrived for many years guided by committee members Richard Elkins from Redlynch, and Rosemary Macdonald, from Wilts Community Foundation.
Rosemary has recently retired after 25 years of giving advice. So now the Wiltshire Living Churchyards projects committee is missing members from the south of the county.
Therefore if you are interested in joining the committee or initially finding out more please contact Ivan Randall. The group meets twice a year at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust HQ in Devizes.
Meanwhile there are two events concerning living churchyards happening soon at Donhead St Andrew on 17 June, and also Alvediston in July. For this event contact mwhyte@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk.
