Volunteer Opportunities with Mothers’ Union Diocese of Salisbury

Virtual Baby Programme

Learning to look after a virtual “computerised” baby is a very popular and unique programme we are currently running in 8 secondary schools in the Diocese. We urgently need help in managing the admin between MU and the schools covering: bookings and co-ordination of the logistics of supply, collection, briefings and maintaining a record of the delivered programmes.

Alternatively, we would be interested in someone willing to take responsibility as the Virtual Baby co-ordinator for a particular school or schools. This would include helping to set up the programme, including baby preparation and delivery, briefing and debriefing pupils, gathering feedback and producing a short report. Previous volunteers have enjoyed the role and find it very rewarding.

The posts offer voluntary work of a few hours a week, mostly in term time. A flexible approach and willingness to deal with telephone queries is essential.  A DBS check will be needed as you would be in contact with children. Travel expenses can be claimed if you visit the school site.

If this volunteer roles appeals to you, or you know someone who would be interested, please contact
