The Rt Revd Stephen Lake
Bishop of Salisbury
Bishop Stephen was born and grew up in Poole, Dorset and served part of his early ministry in the diocese. During his Service of Inauguration, Bishop Stephen preached on the Parable of the Talents and surprised everyone at the service with a £10 gift!
The Rt Revd Karen Gorham
Bishop of Sherborne
As Bishop of Sherborne, Bishop Karen oversees the work in Dorset and supports the diocesan Bishop of Salisbury. Bishop Karen is also patron of a number of local charities: Routes to Roots homeless charity, the Sherborne Abbey Festival, and the Dorset Community Foundation.
The Rt Revd Andrew Rumsey
Bishop of Ramsbury
The Bishop of Ramsbury is responsible for the Wiltshire parts of the Diocese of Salisbury (plus one parish in Dorset and four in Hampshire). As well as being an author, he is also a musician with a longstanding interest in song writing.
David Pain
Diocesan Secretary and Chief Executive Officer
David was appointed in 2019 as the Diocesan Secretary and CEO of the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF). David’s formative experiences were in working with people living with leprosy in India. Outside the Diocese, David is Chair of the Board of Traidcraft Exchange.
Katie Fitzsimmons
Director of Education
Katie started as Director of Education in September 2023. Katie has a background in education, training as a teacher of modern languages before moving into school leadership and then into school improvement support.
The Very Revd Nicholas Papadopulos
Dean of Salisbury
As Dean and senior priest, he shares responsibility with the Bishop and members of Cathedral staff in the oversight of the diocese. Prior to ordination he worked for seven years as a barrister specializing in criminal law, both defending and prosecuting.
The Ven Penny Sayer
Archdeacon of Sherborne
Penny was appointed Archdeacon of Sherborne in 2018 and has a heart for mission, social justice and The Church. Before ordination, she was a research historian who went on to train at the South East Institute for Theological Education, Canterbury.
The Ven Antony MacRow-Wood (currently seconded as Director of Finance and Asset Management)
Archdeacon of Dorset
Antony became Archdeacon of Dorset in 2015 is currently seconded as Director of Finance and Asset Management. All enquiries to be forwarded to Archdeacon Penny or Lucy Holt.
The Ven Alan Jeans MB
Archdeacon of Sarum
Alan was appointed the Archdeacon of Sarum in 2003. He has served as an Army Cadet Force Chaplain since 2002, and is the Honorary Chaplain to the Rifles Association. He was awarded an MBE for services to Army Chaplaincy in June 2021.
The Very Revd Michael R Keirle
Dean of Jersey
Dean Michael was appointed as the Dean of Jersey and Rector of the Parish Church of St Helier in 2017. He worked in Agricultural Research, prior to Ordination Training at Trinity Theological College, Bristol. Mike enjoy links with Africa and is a Trustee of a UK Charity based in Kenya.
The Very Revd Tim R Barker
Dean of Guernsey
As Dean, Tim is the Bishop’s Commissary in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, where as senior priest, he leads the Church in its ministry and mission, and its engagement with civic and public life, in Alderney, Guernsey and Sark.
The Revd Canon Jonathan Triffitt
Director of Mission and Ministry and Deputy Diocesan Secretary
Revd Jonathan was appointed Director of Mission and Ministry and Deputy Diocesan Secretary in 2020. He leads a team to support, serve, and resource local churches in three key areas: discipleship, leadership and community transformation, across all levels (Benefice, Deanery and our Diocesan Board of Education schools)
Elizabeth Harvey
Director of Strategy and Operations
Elizabeth was appointed to the role of Director of Strategy and Operations in 2024 and has 15 years' of working in the financial services sector prior to joining The Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF).
Rebecca Paveley
Director of Communications and Engagement
Rebecca works with Bishops and the senior leadership team to provide a strategic oversight to all communications. She also manages external relationships with the media and other influencers.
Giles Pugh
Deputy Director of Education and Finance Director
Giles qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1992 and has over twenty years’ experience of working at Finance Director level in the charitable, education and health sectors.
