Hundreds gather in Sherborne to celebrate St Aldhelm

Hundreds of people from  around the UK, including school children, are to gather this weekend to celebrate St Aldhelm, who became the first bishop of Dorset more than 1300 years ago.

A Ukrainian refugee who came to the Dorset after the outbreak of war in Ukraine last year is to run her Church’s first Alpha course in Ukrainian.


Monument to slave owner moved to museum

Following years of consultation and research, a memorial to a slave owner has finally been removed from St Peter’s Church, Dorchester, and sent to a local museum.

A message from Archbishop Justin ahead of his missional visit to the diocese

Silton Parish Recognised as the Historic Church Fundraiser of the Year

The Dorset Historic Churches Trust has awarded the Morshead Trophy for this year to St Nicholas Church, Silton. The Trophy is named after Sir Owen Morshead, one of the founders of the Trust in 1960. 


Dorchester school to make a splash in Parliament

Staff and students at St Osmund’s CE Middle School, Dorchester, have recently completed a challenge to ‘twin’ all 49 toilets in the school through the charity 'Toilet Twinning', which helps provide safe toilets overseas.

The Revd Jo Neary has been announced as Sarum Colleges Tutor in Rural Ministry and Mission in the Centre for Formation in Ministry with immediate effect.
