This summer the Church of England are celebrating all creatures great and small. They are looking for anything to do with animals at church – inside or outside, invited or uninvited, real life or painted, stained glass, statues, and more.
Canon Ian Woodward, who has spent more than 25 years building strong relationships with the Church of Sudan and South Sudan, has been presented with the Cross of St Augustine, one of the highest awards in the gift of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
A new Franciscan inspired community in Purbeck is open for new members
Last Thursday, our volunteers enjoyed the final of 3 volunteer events, this time hosted in Waffle, Lyme Regis.
Special services to ordain new clergy were held at Salisbury Cathedral this weekend. 11 priests and 8 deacons will serve communities across Dorset, Wiltshire, and the Channel Islands.
13 urban areas, market towns, and rural villages are to be supported with money from the national church to develop Mission Hubs, as part of our diocesan vision to transform and grow the local church.
This coming weekend, we will celebrate and pray as 19 people are being ordained as deacons and priests in special services at Salisbury Cathedral. We thank God for their dedication as they go out to serve across the diocese.
