Bishop Karen to support the Diocese of London in acting Bishop role

Bishop Karen has been invited by the Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullally, to support the Diocese of London as acting Bishop of Stepney. From January to April 2026, she will divide her time between London and Dorset.

Rise in number of people embarking on a journey of Christian faith

39 people were confirmed at Salisbury Cathedral last weekend by the Bishop of Salisbury, Rt Revd Stephen Lake, assisted by the Bishop of Ramsbury. Rt Revd Andrew Rumsey. 2025 has already seen 5% more people being confirmed across the Diocese of Salisbury than during the whole of 2024.

Six people recipients of Cross of St Aldhelm in its 20th year

Changes for DBS checks for PCC members

As we are moving to the new systems we have reviewed our current processes and there will be some changes in levels of checks advised for some roles. With updated guidance we are now advising that all PCC members are required to complete a DBS check to the level of Enhanced Child and Adult (but without barred lists).
