Respond to uncertainty with faith, not certainty, urges Bishop Stephen at synod

“The danger with uncertain times, is that we seek comfort in certainty,” said Bishop Stephen in his address to synod at the weekend. In the context of a rise in extremism and conflict, aided by the increasing ‘echo chambers’ of some media channels, we need to respond with faith, he said.

Bishops Wordsworths Sixth Form and Salisbury Sixth Form came together on the 12th of February 2025 to hold a debate on the subject of assisted dying, specifically, if terminal illness justifies the ending of a person's life at their request.
