Four new canons join Salisbury Cathedral’s College of Canons

During Evensong on Monday 23 September, four new canons were installed into the College of Canons. In a service held at Salisbury Cathedral, The Revd Kate McFarlane (Rector of the Benefice of St Bartholomew in Semley), The Revd Paul Brooks (Vicar of St Paul's in Jersey), Alan Smith (First Church Estates Commissioner for the Church of England) and Sue de Candole (Diocesan Registrar), were installed by Bishop Stephen.

Meet our new lay ministers

On Saturday 28 September two new lay ministers will be admitted and licensed in Salisbury Cathedral by Bishop Karen as Warden of Licensed Lay Ministers, and many more will renew their promises, as they do each year in a service that celebrates this essential ministry.


Bike Blessing!

Last Sunday, 1 September, over thirty bikers from Dorset and Wiltshire came to St Mary's, Gillingham for a motorcycle blessing.

St John's, Broadstone achieve Silver Eco Church

On Sunday 1 September, Creation Sunday at the start of Creationtide, St John's Church in Broadstone celebrated their Silver Eco Church Award. When the St John's Eco Gang will be leading the morning service. There is also an afternoon pet service at 3pm that day, called Wet Nose Sunday, when all pets are brought to the service and blessed, and they will celebrate it there also. Eco Church and Pet Service celebrations held in Broadstone!

Year 3 handmade beautiful banner

Year 3 went on to tell me they had been learning about Roman mosaics – so decided to put these two bits of learning together.  So they made this lovely mosaic representing the story of Pentecost.
