Cycle of Prayer: 15-21 July

Reading this week's prayers is David Reed. David says "No-one is more surprised than me to have got ordained this year. I became a Christian by accident shortly after getting married and since then Jesus has blown up my entire life. I spent the early part of my career in London working as a charity CEO, and decided to apply some of those skills to my local church in Hamworthy, which is where a call to ministry slowly developed. The formation journey since then has been amazing, and I am so excited to now be serving in the beautiful parish of Corfe Mullen, which has given us the most extraordinary welcome as a family."

Originally from the mountains of East Tennessee, I find myself in Dorset by way of the Hilfield Friary community, where I realised God was calling me to ordained ministry. I also met my husband, Jimmy, at Hilfield, and we now live in Dorchester where he is vicar of St. Mary the Virgin. As a lover of the natural world I am very much looking forward to serving my curacy in the beautiful benefice of West Purbeck and joining in with what God is doing there."
